Measuring system has been in used way back in history from the 1st civilizations like Mesopotamia and Egypt.  Measurements have generally defined the word standards.  From the size of the thumb identified as an inch to the size of the foot which is self explanatory,  other's can be the size of the forearm called the "yard" to the human pace scale of two steps called a mile, originated from Roman mille passus - "A thousand Pace".  But trough time, these measuring standards for length and distance has evolved to a more precise unit that is now called "English and Metric Units", especially when the Metric system was invented in France in 1799.

Both units is still being used, however, the metric system is much easier to understand, because metric units are related by factors of 10.  In fact 95% of the planet uses the metric system, except the United States.  Although the metric system is being used exclusively for science, I believe the understanding of the technical issues surrounding the measuring system would help the non-scientists to enhance their knowledge of the subject and of course if the metric system is universally adopted.

On the other hand the English system has been around since the time of Romans, Norse, Celtics and Saxon cultures, so obviously it's quite outdated.  Since both units is still widely in use we should have a proper understanding of these system works and how to convert values from one system to another.

There are a lot of ways to do it.  Manual calculation is of course apparently grueling and quite a mental torture for those who are not mathematically inclined like me, but let me make it as simple as possible.  Check the table below so you would have a better idea how the number works.

Feet To Meter Converter

ENGLISH SYSTEM

Feet To Meter Converter

12 in = 1 ft

3 ft = 1 yd

1760 yds = 1 mi

Feet To Meter Converter

5280 ft = 1 mi

METRIC SYSTEM

10 mm = 1 cm

100 cm = 1 m

1000m = 1 km

(basic units are m or km)

or if you still don't want to hurt yourself doing the math, here is a much detailed table for you to decipher.

1 meter = 3 feet

10 meter = 33 feet

2 meter = 7 feet

11 meter = 36 feet

3 meter = 10 feet

12 meter = 40 feet

4 meter = 13 feet

13 meter = 43 feet

5 meter = 16 feet

14 meter = 46 feet

6 meter = 20 feet

15 meter = 50 feet

7 meter = 23 feet

16 meter = 53 feet

8 meter = 26 feet

17 meter = 56 feet

9 meter = 30 feet

18 meter = 59 feet

For a more complex calculation need, nothings more reliable than an online "Feet to Meter Converter".  Since the technology was made available and google became the new public library, the need for quick conversation became a reality. I may suggest some reliable sites where you could do a quick conversion.  http://www.opc.ncep.noaa.gov/product_description/cnvrtbl.html , http://www.metric-conversions.org/length/feet-to-meters-table.htm and http://www.convertunits.com/from/feet/to/metres to name a few.  All you need to do is to put in the desired value then click the "convert" tab, and there you go, an accurate and fast converted value right in your very own screen.

For the purpose of measuring lengths of various equipment or any distance there are several of units being used today? However some of these units are being used right from the beginning of measurement era. In earlier time there were just a few methods available to measure any distance which required a big exercise in carrying out measurement of long distance measurement. However with passage of time there has been significant advancement of technologies in various spectrums which also include getting ready made equipments available for measuring lengths. Among many units to measure length of various magnitude most often used is feet which is mostly used to measure small distance. For example lengths of furniture and house parts etc. are measured mostly in feet. However those distances having long distances are measured with use of meter as unit.

In case of length measured in feet we may be required to elucidate that in meters. However distance once measured in feet may take repeated process of measuring that in meters again which is time taken procedure and may not give you accurate result either however for the purpose of using length which has been given in feet for the purpose of length in meter there is feet to meter converter which can be used. Such feet to meter converter is available on many online portals of academic, research and mathematical and IT corporations. On many websites these can be used free of cost however in many cases you may be required to pay nominal charges for use of software, but in most of the cases there is a specific software which has been developed according the set standards and parameters.

There is also traditional method of converting feet into meter which may require to be calculated manually. This method however may take long also gives accurate result. While using this method it should be remembered as to how many feet are there in one meter. Once you know the total number of feet contained in a single unit meter it gets quite easy. For example how many meters make up to 10 feet? For that purpose you can either of the methods however using online portal software of conversion you can get result in second and in traditional you are required to calculate as 3.048. However it is obvious that one meter contains total of 3.280839 feet. Once you are comfortable with this concept it is quite easy to convert values of feet into value of meter.

Conversion Feet To Meter

Conversion has its importance deeply entrenched in our daily life. Though, it is not that easy for most of us to easily engage in the procedure of conversion due to lack of knowledge in the technicalities of the units involved. Conversion, in strictly mathematical terms, is known as the procedure for transforming one unit to another. The conversion, therefore, is of many types. A prominent one amongst all these may be the conversion feet to meter.
